The highly anticipated romantic comedy 'Param Sundari', starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, is set to hit theaters this Friday, August 29. The film, which follows a love story between a Delhi boy and a Kerala girl, has officially received its censor certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).According to the reports, the movie has been granted a U/A 13+ rating. No visual cuts, only muted words

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC has not requested any visual cuts from the filmmakers. The film’s final runtime has also been confirmed, clocking in at 2 hours and 16 minutes.However, a few words within the dialogues were muted. The report states that the words "bloody," "church," and "father" have been censored.

Controversies surrounding the film

Several Malayalam influencers and celebrities slammed the film for Janhvi's Malayali accent. They also said that the makers could have approached an actress from Kerala for the role. Not just that, netizens from the state also lashed out for the stereotypical representation of Kerala and its women.

A delayed release and strong buzz

'Param Sundari' was initially scheduled for a July 25 release but was postponed to avoid a box office clash. The delay appears to have built up more anticipation for the film.Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor have been actively promoting the movie, traveling to different cities like Delhi and Jaipur.
Apart from the picturesque visuals, the film is also receiving love before its release due to the songs.The songs 'Pardesiya' and 'Bheegi Saari', composed by Sachin-Jigar, are already proving to be chartbusters and have contributed to the film's growing popularity ahead of its release. The film also stars Renji Panicker, Siddhartha Shankar, Manjot Singh, Sanjay Kapoor, and Inayat Verma. Directed by Tushar Jalota, the movie is backed by Dinesh Vijan.
